Every other Tuesday, there's a group of women that comes to my house for tea, knitting and conversation (affectionately named Stitch N' Bitch, after the book of the same name). We leave our significant others and/or children home for a full two hours of girl time. It serves as my much-needed, every-two-weeks attitude adjustment.
As the day comes closer, I start to think "I don't have time! I don't have the energy! I already ate all the cookies!" But once everyone gets here, we laugh loudly, complain about our children and our jobs, and throw in a dash of politics, travel, books... some of us even get some knitting done. And by the time it's over, I feel ready to face another two weeks. Thank God for girlfriends.
