Being a single mom is hard work, no argument here. But in my book, it's not without its advantages...

For one, i am always the boss of everybody (in theory, at least). also, the dishes in the sink are always my own -- or the kids', but you can't really have a good fight with them about why they clean up after their sorry selves when they're only 6 years old. Plus i get to choose what music we listen to and when and how loud! i'm never forced to listen to talk radio, or endless nonsensical miscellaneous sports events. I get to go to bed at 8:00 pm without any guilt whatsoever. If i decide i only have enough energy to warm up chicken nuggets for dinner - the house erupts into cheering... and best of all, if i successfully avoid my hallway mirror, nobody in the whole world has to look at my flabby post-baby tummy!
