I have a friend who is married, but on the fence about having children. She called the other day to say she was passing by on her way home from the gym, and could she stop by to see the new baby? It was 7:00 pm (so I was already in my nightshirt) but I told her if she didn't mind that, to come on over...
She arrived to see me in all my nightgown glory. Which is to say, there was no makeup covering the dark rings around my eyes, there was no attempt to hide any of the 50 pounds i'd gained, and my boobs were in their natural state -- hanging to my knees. In between nursing, the baby was crying. and crying. and crying. I sat her up on my knee, and she proceeded to pee on my leg (through her diaper and second set of pajamas that night).
My poor friend just looked at me with a distraught expression, and i feel confident she went home that night to stock up on condomns and birth control pills. What can I say? I'm just glad to be helpful.
