1934: A New Deal For Artists
During the Great Depression, the U.S. government created the first federal government program to support the arts. Pieces in the new Whatcom Museum exhibit capture the realities and ideals of the Depression. Admission is $10 for adults, $8 for students, and $4 for kids age 5 and under. FIG Studio Art Exploration
The FIG Studio, located at the back of the Family Interactive Gallery, is a place where both children and adults can work with a different art medium each week. Through independent projects, participants stretch their imaginations while exploring various art media and methods. Open during regular operating hours until 4:30 pm.
