My favorite thing about the arrival of the fall season in the Pacific Northwest is seeing the beautiful colors that blanket our community. The bright yellow leaves and orange pumpkins make a cloudless, autumn sky seem even bluer. And there's no better place to see these colors on display than in the wide, open spaces of Whatcom and Skagit County farms.
In addition to the Local Pumpkin Patches we reviewed in 2008, check out some other farms that offer just as much fun for fall this year.

Put a smile on their face at a local pumpkin farm.
Cloud Mountain Farm & Nursery is also well-known for a large selection of apples, pears, and grapes. They offer a selection of ornamental trees and shrubs for expert gardeners too. But we all know that the favorite part of the farm for the kids is Julia's U-Pick pumpkin patch. As a special incentive to make a trip to the farm, website visitors can get a Cloud Mountain Farm Gift Card that is only redeemable when you visit in person!
Schuh Farms
15565 State Route 536
Mount Vernon, WA 98273
(360) 424-6982
Open every day 9 AM to 6 PM
If your kids can’t get enough of "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown," head down to Skagit County to Schuh Farms to explore their own Great Pumpkin Patch. You can buy fresh produce, flowers, fresh cider, pumpkins and gourds, artisan cheeses, jams, gourmet food and more at the retail barn. It's amazing to see all that Schuh Farms produces today, after beginning as a green pea farm in 1963.
