When you’re a kid, having a summer birthday can be kind of a bummer. You don’t get to celebrate your special day with your classmates, and if you do, it’s usually on the same day as all the summer birthdays. Not quite the same.
Have a baseball-themed party with the Bellingham Bells.
So if your little one has a summer birthday, you might want to do something to make it extra special. We racked our brains and came up with four great options for special summer birthday parties to enjoy in Bellingham and Whatcom County.
Bellingham Bells
If your little one is a sports fan, you can book a birthday party package with this local West Coast Collegiate Baseball League team. For the Homerun Birthday Party ($175), you get 10 reserved seat tickets, along with hot dogs and sodas, a t-shirt for the Birthday boy or girl, a Birthday cake brought to you in the stands while the stadium sings “Happy Birthday” and a special Birthday message on the score board. For $25 more, the birthday kid can throw out the ceremonial first pitch of the game. Even if you’re not interested in the whole package, a day out at the ball game is a fun opportunity alone. Individual tickets for kids age 12 and under are only $5 (general admission is $6). Not a bad deal for America’s pastime.
Birch Bay Waterslides
Having a summer birthday has one advantage over a winter-time celebration: water fun. The Birch Bay Waterslides are a great option if your child loves water and adventure. Birthday parties of 10 children or more can get discounted admission prices (starting at $13 per child). And of course, the birthday kid gets in for free, and there is ice cream included for the whole party. You can also order cakes and rent covered picnic areas for additional fees.
Other options to the traditional birthday cake are individual cupcakes, donuts, or ice cream sundaes.
Jump Around Fun Zone
This Bellingham bounce center opened a few months ago, and they offer two party options. You can bring the party to their facility, located in north Bellingham, for 90 minutes of bounce time and 60 minutes in a private party room, starting at $8.95 per child (a minimum of 8 participants required). Or you can take the bouncing fun home with inflatable bounce houses that are delivered and set up right in your yard. You can get the Standard Bounce House for four hours at $155. Bounce houses are also great for block parties, family reunions, and other community events with kids.
CreativiTea
Some kids are much happier to be inside than jumping around a bounce house or getting soaked at the water slides. For those kids, consider a party of pottery painting at CreativiTea in Fairhaven. Cost for kid parties begins at $13.95 per child and guests will get to take home a piece of personally decorated pottery. They’ll also get to make their own ice cream sundaes, and complimentary tea for two adults is included too.
