BELLINGHAM, WA (October 1, 2008) – Bellingham author and motivational speaker, Melissa Borghorst, brings Operation Dream List workshops to Whatcom County schools, giving students the tools, knowledge and courage to follow and reach their dreams.

A Dream List Journal A Dream List Media Dream Journal.

Operation Dream List workshops, for grades 6-12, teach students important goal planning skills, but with a unique twist. To make the learning experience more fun and meaningful, they apply these skills to their individual dreams, learning how to break their big dreams into smaller goals that they can start accomplishing right away. During the workshop, students create personalized Dream List Journals and throughout the year, the journals are filled in to track progress towards their dreams.

“When kids learn how to map out a plan to their dreams, they have the unique ability to steam straight ahead with no fear or hesitation. Sprinkle that with some encouragement and they’re off accomplishing amazing things,” says Borghorst.

For the last few years, Borghorst has volunteered in 6th grade classrooms at East Ridge Elementary in Woodinville, Washington, teaching students how to follow and reach their dreams. Her workshops inspired one 6th grader to publish a book and another to continue using the journal to accomplish dreams, years after the workshop.

Earlier this year, Borghorst left the corporate world to follow her own dream.  She started the Bellingham company, Dream List Media, to continue motivational speaking and to publish the Dream List Photo Journal series, a series of themed journals to document accomplished dreams with photos and journaling. For a limited time, she is offering Operation Dream List workshops to Whatcom County schools—for FREE.

To schedule a free workshop, contact Dream List Media at info@dreamlistmedia.com or (360) 676-6718. Dream List Photo Journals are available at Village Books, Cresswell Boggs and the Western Associated Students Bookstore. You can also visit Dream List Media to find out more about Melissa and her program.
