Each camp creates an interesting folk art or craft project using silk painting, block printing, polymer clay figures or ceramic painting. Young artists will expand their creativity using art materials such as graphite, pastel, collage, watercolor, colored pencil, charcoal, and acrylic. June 28 - July 2: Cartooning & Animation
Sign up early to learn about cartooning and animation. Create your own ‘flipbook’, a painted cartoon cell, and learn basic drawing techniques for expressions, movement and backgrounds to bring characters to life.
July 5 - 9: Tropical Rainforest Art
Join in a world of crazy designs, wild color and texture from the rich wildlife habitats in Africa, Peru, Venezuela and Borneo. We’ll be looking for ideas inspired by the Brazilian Rainbow Boa, exotic birds like the Scarlet Macaw, the legendary Jaguar and plants of the rainforest.
July 12 - 16: Middle Ages Adventures
Learn about the Middle Ages through drawing and painting. This historic period will capture the young artists imagination. Knights, fair ladies, kings and castles. peasants and wizards.
July 19 - 23: Wild Cat Art
In this ‘Year of the Tiger’ learn to capture the power and splendor of lions, tigers, jaguars and panthers in their natural habitat. You’ll learn tricks for creating realistic looking cats using basic drawing, painting and sculpting.
July 26 - 30: Beneath the Salish Sea
Join us on a drawing and painting expedition into the inland waterways of Washington and British Columbia. We’ll take a close look at the Orca killer whale, the giant octopus, sea lions, and the people who first lived around the Salish Sea.
August 2 - 6: Land of the Sun and Moon
Explore Mexican folk art, the mysterious Aztec legends, and Mexico’s culture in this popular camp. We’ll learn about its history, beliefs and daily life while creating colorful drawing, paintings, and folk art projects.
August 9 - 13: Lands of Myths and Legends
A camp that’s not for the 'faint of heart'. Chinese dragons, Greek gods, the Raven of the Northwest, draw inspiration from their stories and how to draw them. Join us for a week of art and learn about the myths and legends of many lands.
